As we approach our one year anniversary of this podcast, I am sharing the behind the scenes of how I built Nourish with Michelle Fox and I am also diving into the creation of my book, Is It Hot In Here Or Is It Just Me? 7 Steps to Dramatically Reduce Your Hot Flashes. 

Why am I spilling all these beans? Well, it's not just about demystifying podcast hosting; it's about igniting your spark of creativity AND sending out a big, warm thank you hug to you and our incredible community.

Creation: Let’s Have Some Fun!

To those who have expressed interest in creating their own podcast and/or writing a book, I fully support you!  I'm here to cheer you on with the loudest virtual pom-poms! 🎉💫

Embracing the podcasting realm and delving into the world of writing have opened up new worlds for me both personally and professionally (more on that soon).  I’m sure you can imagine – podcasting is like being handed a magical microphone that lets you share your thoughts, stories, and laughter with a global audience, all from the cozy corner of your creative haven. And then there's writing a book – the world is ready for YOUR story!

 

So, to my fellow dream-weavers and creatives, I'm right here, waving a banner of encouragement. And guess what? In this episode, I’ll be your enthusiastic guide, throwing light on the art of creating and sharing your gifts!

 

Behind The Book: Your New Menopause Resource

I wrote a digital guide for my fellow sisters going through menopause, as I do not want anybody suffering. In it, I provide seven specific steps on how to eliminate a lot of your menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and belly bloat. As you are reading it, hopefully it feels as if I am holding your hand and supporting you along the way!

As for the process, I started writing it in September of last year, taking around ten months to finish it while making sure to balance my life responsibilities and work productivity. I also had the amazing help of our Digital Marketing Assistant, Shirley Lin, to help with the editing and graphics.  I am very proud of the beautiful outcome and sincerely hope it helps you or someone you love! 

 

Behind The Podcast: Planning & Logistics

Kajabi is the platform we use for the back office, which just happens to have a podcast feature, which made it pretty convincing to start one. When setting it up, I researched the name, incorporated my brand colors, decided how I wanted to format the shows, chose the theme music for the intro and outro, purchased the necessary tools such as my microphone, and focused on a specific niche.

If you are thinking of starting your own podcast, there are many relatively easy ways to do it. Also, as you consider the nuts and bolts of your podcast, you will find many answers through Google and YouTube as well. Don’t be afraid to go at your own pace and of course definitely don’t hesitate to ask for help!
